Are you looking for a therapist who specializes in relationship dynamics, focusing on relationship health?
…whether it’s partner, family, friendship, career, or the most important relationship, the one with yourself?
During this especially stressful time of isolation, confusion, and uncertainty, we are struggling to redefine how to maintain the health of our connections to others.
I offer online individual therapy and couple therapy for adults in New York. If you are in distress and need help to reestablish and maintain healthy connections with your partners, family, friends, work environment, or yourself, contact me for a free consultation.
We are experiencing challenging times.
The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are numerous and have created a long lasting crisis situation that is exacerbating depression, anxiety, feelings of fear and hopelessness, and triggering unhealthy regressive patterns and behaviors. It has placed stress on marriages, partnerships and families, and has left us feeling disconnected, frustrated and fearful.
We are also experiencing a massive shift in our paradigm regarding race and ethnicity, which necessitates a different therapeutic consciousness that is more holistic, and that includes the issue of how racism and inequality affect mental health.
As we navigate the “new normal,” it’s important to have a supportive space that can help define issues that are problematic so we can adjust accordingly to the harmful effects of the current crisis.

As a Latine therapist, I apply an anti-racism and anti-oppression lens to our work.
My approach includes a focus on ways that the issue of systemic racism, oppression and inequality might be affecting you, either as someone who has experienced it directly, or as someone who wants to be a more conscious and proactive white ally in the work of supporting BIPOC.
We will examine how the effects of racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia and other oppressions translate into stressors that contribute to the symptoms you might be experiencing as part of a marginalized group, or to the questions you might have as a white ally to BIPOC.
Because of their personal experiences, therapists of color have an increased awareness and are often at the forefront of how systemic racism affects mental health. However, while there has generally been an increase in the numbers of mental health providers of color, the profession is still largely white-dominated.
